Minor ailment services

Care without the waiting room

In Alberta, pharmacists are authorized to assess everyday health concerns and, when appropriate, prescribe treatment. Our pharmacists will see you quickly, treat what they can, and refer you to a physician when your situation needs one — and we send a summary to your family doctor so your health record stays complete.

What we treat

Common conditions we can prescribe for

Bacterial and allergic conjunctivitis assessed; drops prescribed when appropriate.

Skin conditions

Eczema, dermatitis, acne, athlete’s foot and ringworm treatments.

Heartburn & acid reflux

Occasional dyspepsia and reflux — stronger relief than the shelf offers.

Allergies & hay fever

Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including non-drowsy options.

Hemorrhoids

Assessment plus prescription-strength options when over-the-counter isn’t enough.

Menstrual cramps

Dysmenorrhea treatment — prescription anti-inflammatories when you need them.

Morning sickness

Nausea of pregnancy — safe, evidence-based options, prescribed with care.

Insect bites & stings

Reactions, infected bites, and tick-bite prophylaxis after a tick attach.

Pinworms

Single-dose treatment for the whole household, no appointment needed.

Don’t see your symptom? Call us — if we can’t treat it, we’ll point you to someone who can.

How it works

Three steps, one visit

1

Walk in or call

No appointment needed for most concerns — swing by the pharmacy or call ahead.

2

Quick private assessment

A pharmacist reviews your symptoms and history in a private consultation, usually 15–20 minutes.

3

Leave with treatment

If appropriate, we prescribe and fill your prescription on the spot — same visit, same counter.

Out of refills?

Our pharmacists can also extend and renew many existing prescriptions — even before your next doctor’s appointment.

Your doctor stays in the loop

We send a summary of the assessment and any prescription to your family physician, keeping your health record complete.

Most plans accepted

Like all our services, assessments and prescriptions are billed to most major insurance plans — bring your card.
