Substituting Prescription Medications
If your prescribed medication is unavailable because of a supply disruption, our pharmacist can substitute it with an equivalent one — keeping your treatment going when the unexpected happens.
Your treatment, uninterrupted
It can be difficult to predict medication supplies. The pharmaceutical industry must meet strict quality standards, and drug shortages can happen (e.g., if a batch is rejected for some reason). Fortunately, the same medication is often made by many companies.
A safe, equivalent substitute
If your medication is completely out of stock, our pharmacist can substitute it with an equivalent one. When making a substitution, our pharmacist ensures the new drug is in the same family as your prescribed medication, tells you how to take it properly, and notifies your doctor.
Follow-up care
Our pharmacist will follow up with you after a few days to check that the new medication is working for you — so you’re never left on your own after a change.
Your choice to switch back
Once your regular medication is available again, our pharmacist will give you the option of going back to this drug or staying with your substitution.
Can’t find your medication?
If your prescription is out of stock, ask our pharmacist about a safe equivalent — we’ll keep your treatment on track.
